[Features]
· Recoil taps differ from ordinary taps, designed for exclusive use with screw thread inserts (STI). They have a large diameter but the same pitch as a standard tap in order to accommodate the Recoil Inserts.
· Recoil Taps are manufactured to precise standards from High Speed steel (HSS or HSS-E) with ground threads and are available in Intermediate and Bottoming leads.
· In addition to hand taps, Spiral Point and Spiral Flute machine taps are also available for mass production purposes. In addition, for all spark plug applications pilot nose taps are available, which do not require a special recoil drill. The Recoil thread inserts when installed into a correctly tapped hole will provide the applicable internal thread tolerance for the installed bolt.
· Intermediate tap...The most commonly used tap, mainly used for through hole applications. 4 -thread lead.
· Bottoming tap...Used when tapping to the bottom of a blind hole. 2-Thread lead, and is normally used after a taper tap or intermediate tap.
